At 84 years old just admit that you have had your luck in life. Online dating at that age is ridiculous. If you are going to do it then at least be realistic. Building bike lanes is a good use of time and resources if they are separated by concrete curbs or permanent bollards to prevent people from using them as their personal parking spaces. But if they are not enforced, they are a waste of time and resources. So, towns and cities, don't build them if you will not follow through and enforce them. Speaking for myself, if they are blocked, I often ride in the regular traffic lanes. I'm comfortable riding in traffic. But don't expect to increase the number of people cycling, reducing the number of cars and traffic if you are half-hearted about it. Bike lanes are for those 90% of people who would like to cycle for transportation but are not comfortable or afraid to ride in traffic.
